My yummy lunch out with Steve today!

Sonia's Leaving!

Last night we went to a little get-together/binge for Sonia as she's leaving next Friday. Sonia invited Steve, Noah, and myself and we went to the ASH. Just a few friends to keep it small--and cozy. It was loads of fun! We played this crazy card game, where the main aim was to drink. It brought a lot of laughs, and hi5s might I add. I took lots of crazy pictures of the girls, and even Steve and Julie dancing. But since it wasn't with my camera I have none to share with you right now. I'm sure you'll get to see a few on Facebook though.

All my best wishes and prayers for you Sonia! I hope you enjoy your time in Congo.

Long Week

I've had such a long and tiring week. The week-end is nearly here and I can't wait to get some needed rest. I have to admit I've been dreaming about it since Monday...
On another note: Sorry about the long silence on my blog! I know I've been neglecting it (and you) a lot lately. This week-end and the coming week I promise to do better.

Missing My Sister

So she's gone...sob! We just took her to the airport today, said our goodbyes. I miss her already. Joy is so much fun. So silly, weird, and crazy. She brought life and fun/foolishness to our home and things won't be the same without "our" Joy. Come back to us!--I love you.

Steve organized a goodbye party for Joy last night. Tons of people came and I was so happy Joy got to see (almost) all her friends again before leaving. I spent most of the night taking pictures of everyone. Friends wrote little messages for her and I put the paper in her bag, not to be looked at until she's on the plane.

My Day Off

Our planned outing ended up changing at the last minute as the place was closed. We ended up going to a second-hand book store, the Chinese store, and finally a restaurant to relax order some desert. Here are some pictures of the day:
Joy enjoying her ice-cream.
Just a peek to make your mouth water...

What's left of my Cappuccino.

We found so many awesome things in the Chinese store. It was like a walk through memory lane seeing food we grew up on as kids. We bought spring rolls and chillies and made a Thai dinner in honor of Joy. We had sticky rice, Nam Tok, spring rolls, tamarind eggs, and salad.

I just have to use my hands when eating Thai food, especially sticky rice. Wish you could have been there, Thai food is so amazing!

Even Steve has been corrupted!

Night Out

Friday night was our fun night out. We went to the Safari Lodge to have some drinks, then we met up with friends at the karaoke bar. It was lots of fun! We played pool, sang on stage(some of us that is...), talked with friends.
Anita and Joy ordering drinks.

"Sip, sip."

Poor Joy I took so many pictures of her that night!

Cute little fountains.

At the karaoke place:
Anita and Joy singing away...

Their adoring fans...

Joyce and Noah sang "All You Need Is Love" along with Andy and David.

Snuggling up to my love.

Fun Times

"Hmmph! I know what they want. They want me to reach for the ball. But I'm not going to fall for their tricks."

Brendan having school. He loves reading books. His favorite part is turning the page.

Kiara doing school games outside.

"I can stand up all by myself!--well, almost."

"I'm having so much fun!"

"I can eat it all in one BIG bite!"

A Tale of Shoes

The other day we got a bunch of random items donated to us by a friend. In the pile was a box with a pair of new Reebok tennis for girls. Steve brings them up and says, “Here babe try these on.” I’m thinking, that’s great one always needs a pair of good tennis! I pick them up out of the box and see immediately that they must be at least one or two sizes too big for me. “They’re too big for me.” I say. “What? No way! Try them on.” I try to convince him that if shoes are too big and don’t fit you then you shouldn't wear them. “What…? Size doesn't make a difference!” he says. I have nothing to say to this….it’s just too funny. Instead of some smart remark I laugh and start putting on the shoes, to make him happy.
Turns out they were a size 39 and I’m size 37. Could almost fit two of my feet in one shoe! I show Steve the obvious, and he reluctantly agrees that they’re too big for me. I laughed about this incident for quite a long time. So sweet!--He wanted me to have some new shoes so badly…he’s such a wonderful guy!
